On 26 September 2025, the European Researchers’ Night was celebrated across the continent, welcoming more than 1.5 million people of all ages into museums, universities, and research institutions in 460 cities across 25 countries.
Visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of science through games, discussions, experiments, and a wide range of interactive activities — all while engaging directly with researchers in their communities.
In Santander, LIAISON partners – the University of Cantabria organised the XIII edition of the event which brought together over 6 000 people in Plaza de Pombo, where nearly 300 researchers presented their work across 40 stands. Visiting families and science-enthusiasts explored themes such as biomedicine, technology, sustainability, prehistory and geography — with hands-on demonstrations exploring writing evolution, the water-cycle, drones, personalised medicine and the EU’s green transition, all while stargazing and discovering the nearby Costa Quebrada Geopark.
Dario Prieto from the University of Cantabria presented the LIAISON project during the event, showcasing its innovative work via a dedicated poster.
